Tabla Research & Traditional Taalim Centre-TRTTC 4.12

With a view to promote the most prominent & popular Indian Percussion Instrument "TABLA", The Tabla Research & Traditional Taalim Centre-TRTTC was erected in Guwahati on December 2007; a humble concern of feeding knowledge to the ignorant. Though Tabla is a very popular instrument in India, it has to tread a long way in this part of the country. The reasons are dismal & varied:

1. Lessons imparted by incompetent in the field.

2. Schools offering merely the Diploma courses of short duration.

3. Fat expenses on going outstation or for inviting exponents to pursue training.,
besides others.

These ailments can only be cured by the time-tested " Guru-Shishya Parampara" which is absent in this part of the country.
We offer TAALIM (systematic training) in different stages to awaken the hidden talents which are being chocked spontaneously.

1. Preliminary Stage

Emphasis is laid upon the perfect setting of fingers, sitting postures for smooth circulation of blood, padhant of different syllables (bols) for fluent pronunciation, besides study of the general theoretical aspects. Moreover, a student is prepared for various exams under different boards.

2. Advanced Stage

As a student's creativity & skill develops, he or she attains an advanced stage. In this stage a student learns various compositions of the Great Masters of different Gharanas (schools). Besides, the student is prepared for various State & National Level Competitions, Youth Festivals, Scholarships and other such Cultural events.

3. Post-Advanced Stage (Technical Taalim)

Here a student is taught to pursue the quality to become an artist. Various complex & special compositions of the Great Masters are taught to him. Lesson is also imparted on the practical use of Tabla in Solo and accompaniment with various forms of Vocal, Dances & other Instrumental music. Regular Listening-Classes are carried out where a student can see and hear various Great Musicians.
