A page for M.Des students of IIT Delhi. The two years Masters Programme, M.Des started in the year 1994, is an interdisciplinary course that caters to the requirements of industries for innovative designers. This programme is a blend of different disciplines of design with the students' projects in the fields of product, mobility and interaction design. The students are trained to creatively solve ill-defined problems with a user centric approach. It creates a rich learning environment with students from engineering and architecture backgrounds working synergistically and contributing diverse ideas. The course is industry and consumer oriented, with the thesis projects often supported by the industry. This close interaction with the industry enables the students to have a hands on experience and prepares them better to enter the world of professional designers. The curriculum includes study of aesthetics, ergonomics, communication skills, materials, design methodology, design for manufacture, CAD, user interface studies, behavioural science and professional practice.
