Gopal’s has a humble origin in the enterprising thought of S. Hargopal Singh when he opened the first outlet Phuwara Chowk, Patiala. Over the years, the sweetness and aroma of the Gopal’s spread in Patiala and region around. Over the years the outlet and its cuisine evolved with changing customer preferences and lifestyle. On the ever increasing patronage of Patialvis the second outlet was opened at the Leela Bhawan. Opening the first self-service multi-cuisine restaurant in 1999 was a path-breaking development.
Meanwhile, Chandigarh too had grown up as a city of people with refined tastes and a liking for healthy, hygienic sweets. Gopal’s opened up the first outlet in the City Beautiful at Sector 8 in 2003. Understanding the needs and demand of the people, the chain set up the downtown Sector 35. Soon it was to become a favoured eating joint and a takeaway outlet of the youngsters and couples. The outlet is doing brisk business from morning to late evening. Setting up of exclusive wedding outlet at Panchkula in 2007 followed. In order to growing demand of students and people of the northern sectors of Chandigarh the latest outlet has been opened in Sector 15.
Today, Gopal’s trade name has become synonymous with quality, hygienic handling and preparation, long shelf life, good presentation and easy to use packing. The chain has a special tie-ups with caterers and select hotels for supply of sweets and milk products.
The production of the Gopal’s chain is handled from Patiala, whiles sales department operates from Chandigarh.
