GLS University is established in the year of 2015 with the endeavor to provide most creative learning platform and continuing its excellence in education. GLS University is promoted by Gujarat Law Society.

Gujarat Law Society, established in the year 1927 is one of the largest educational organizations in the state of Gujarat. GLS was established by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Shri Ganesh Mavlankar, the first speaker of the country and Shri I. M. Nanavati with a vision of Excellence in Education.

With the advent of self financed era, GLS took a pioneering role to offer courses in several disciplines such as Business Management, Computer Technology, Commerce, Business Administration, Education, etc. apart from those in already being offered in Law, and Humanistic. GLS also has a wide range of professional programmes encompassing an array of programmes in various functional & sectoral specializations like Human Resource Management, Banking & Insurance, CA, CS, Professional Accounting, Exports Management, and Personality Grooming & Communications etc. Thus GLS has already been functioning like a virtual university, though having all its courses affiliated with different state universities.
