Digital India is a flagship program initiated by Government of India aimed at transforming India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. DigiLocker is a key initiative under Digital India program.

Aimed at providing paperless governance to the citizen, DigiLocker is a platform for issuance and verification of documents & certificates digitally. This will help in eliminating the use of physical documents and ensuring error free verification of documents. Users registering for a DigiLocker account, get a dedicated and secure cloud storage space, which provides the user with the ability to upload documents and also allows department/organisation to push the electronic document to the DigiLocker.
