Inception in 1992. Kavalam Narayana Panikker, doyen of Malayalam Theatre inaugurated
Best Director Award from Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy in 1993
Conducted four successful G Sankara Pillai Memorial Theatre Festivals in 1993, 1994, 1996 and 1998
Raised a sum of money through street plays and donated it to Lathur Earthquake Relief Fund in 1994
Footsbarn, a renowned French Travelling Theatre Company selected 3 artists from Abhinaya to work with them in 1995
First International Tour at Festival de Almada, Portugal in 2000 with the play Verdigris directed by Abhilash Pillai
A street play on River Protection was presented throughout Kerala in 2000 and another on computer literacy staged 300 shows in one district alone in 2003
Participated in major national theatre festivals like Bharat Rang Mahotsav, Prithvi Theatre Festival, Rangashankara Theatre Festival, Natyotsav in Jammu and Goa, Bahuroopi Theatre Festival, National Multilingual Theatre Festival, Young Directors Theatre Festival.
Started Ajayan Memorial Theatre Event, an annual event, in memory of our departed co founder Sri. S Ajayan in October 2004. An annual theatre festival during the last week of every October.
Reproduced the magnum opus Malayalam play ‘Karutha Daivathe Thedi’ (In Search of Dark God) after 25 years of its first production with the same director and actors in January 2005
Hosted Footsbarn Travelling Theatre, Paris to present their play ‘Perchance to Dream’ in Thiruvananthapuram in March 2005
Participated in the prestigious Avignon Theatre Festival in France in July 2007 with the play Sidhartha.
Constructed a space at Abhinaya’s own land in Plathara near Karakulam on the outskirts of Thiruvananthapuram city in February 2008
Produced the play Macbeth directed by Jyothish M G in association with India Foundation for the Arts in December 2008
Participated in Bharat Rang Mahotsav with the play Macbeth in January 2009
The Delhi Ibsen Festival commissioned to produce the play Lady from the Sea directed by Jyothish M G in November 2009
Participated in the International Theatre Festival of Kerala with the play ‘Pacha’ directed by Surjith Gopinath in December 2009
Abhinaya’s artistic director Jyothish M G was awarded the prestigious Sanskriti Prathishtan Award in 2009
The British Council invited Jyothish M G to attend the Edinburgh International Festival in August 2009
Participated in the Delhi Ibsen Festival with the play Lady from the Sea in November 2009
Participated in the Bharat Rang Mahotsav in Januuary 2010 with the play Lady from the Sea directed by Jyothish M G
The first Abhinaya Summer Theatre Festival- Kerala’s premier travelling theatre festival- started in May 2010 covering 7 venues across Kerala with 3 plays
Started the certificate Course in Theatre in association with Indira Gandhi National Open University in June 2010.
Participated in the International Theatre Festival of Kerala with the play Lady from the Sea directed by Jyothish M G in December 2010
Participated in the Bharat Rang Mahotsav with the play Lady from the Sea in January 2011.
The second edition of Abhinaya Summer Theatre Festival started in April 2011 covering 7 venues across Kerala with 3 plays
Produced and presented the play Invisible Cities directed by Firoze Khan in December 2011.
Partnering with Footsbarn Travelling Theatre for the play Tempest with 3 actors from Abhinaya joining with them in January 2012.
The third edition of Abhinaya Summer Theatre Festival started in April 2012 covering 8 venues across Kerala with 3 plays
